The film is based on the Nickelodeon series The Casagrandes. It follows Ronnie Anne as her summertime trip to Mexico throws off her birthday plans. She is determined to show that she is mature enough to make her own decisions, even if it means facing a preteen demigod who is ancient and full of potentially catastrophic angst. The animated series Casagrandes is a spin-off of the hugely popular The Loud House.
