Furthermore, Doris has to cope with discord in her family, especially due to her mother. Her only thought is on her kid, who has a deadly condition, and how she will take care of him. Unexpectedly, Doris makes friends with a distraught husband. Linney captures the essence of a working-class Floridian with a forceful performance that is distinctive of her, even though it might seem a little out of place.
