With a good dose of entertaining choreographed musical performances interspersed throughout, Wonka is a happy and endearing film. As a younger Willy Wonka, Timothée Chalamet is a complete joy to watch; she gives the part a whimsical charm, warmth, and upbeat energy. Chalamet sings with a lighthearted style and deftly manages the more delicate songs, such as the film’s final song. When Willy Wonka is seen sharing moments with a child played by Calah Lane, who is this time in much worse circumstances than Charlie, it is clear that he is a deeply compassionate and honest person. Calah had a great screen presence and performed an amazing job in the role.The antagonists referred to Paterson Joseph, Matthew Baynton, and Matt Lucas as the Chocolate Cartel.
