The lead character John Sugar is a private investigator who specialises in situations involving missing persons. His partner Ruby encourages him to unwind, and his technique is outstanding. Even with the well-deserved chance, Sugar is unable to turn down the invitation from renowned Hollywood producer Jonathan Siegel. However Olivia Siegel’s granddaughter vanished. What makes the writing unique is the way Sugar appears between them. Farrell is not the only one looking for a missing female. It makes me think of Mitchum and Bogart springing to life.
